It is a relational vector cartographic database with topological structure geometry. The database is from pre-existing cartography at scale 1:250,000 (“Il Mondo JOG 1501” Map series 250/G). The information content is divided into 10 thematic layers: Transport Network, Hydrography, Administrative and Natural Borders, Settlements, Vegetation, Geomorphological Elements, Industries, Services, Elevation Elements and Data Quality. Each thematic layer contains a dataset, homogeneous by theme, describing geographic details with corresponding attributes. The format is VPF(Vector Product Format) implemented according to the DIGEST(Digital Geographic Exchange Standard). Coordinates are geographic (“noprojection“) in sexadecimal degrees. The horizontal datum is WGS84 (World Geodetic System 84). The vertical datum is referenced to Genova 1942.
