Pegaso VRS Now is a network of GNSS permanent stations, developed by Trimble and certified by the Italian Military Geographic Institute, that provides immediate access to real-time NRTK corrections throughout Italy. The network consists of 190 state-of-the-art stations uniformly distributed throughout Italy, ensuring the use of the latest satellite constellations and a redundant communication system.
The network, resulting from a public-private partnership between Difesa Servizi and Trimble, was set up according to specifications established by IGMI, whose staff calculated the position of the permanent stations and tested the service. Services also include the opportunity to perform real-time transformations of planimetric and altimetric coordinates using the Institute’s official grids. Since the service became operational on April 22, 2024, IGMI has been continuously monitoring the network’s performance and the service’s functionality. Pegaso service is certified by IGMI as it is the official cartographic body of the state and manager of the National Geodetic Reference System in accordance with the Prime Ministerial Decree of 10/11/2011.
