Verto2k and Verto3k are IGMI software types enabling coordinate conversions between both planimetric and altimetric Geodetic Reference Systems with the same results of those officially adopted by IGMI.
As for plane coordinates, both software carry out conversions between the most commonly used systems in Italy (ROMA40, ED50, ETRF89 and ETRF2000) in all possible combinations. In addition to geographic coordinates, the software also allows the processing of plane coordinates belonging to the Cartographic Systems normally associated with the aforementioned Geodetic Systems: Gauss-Boaga for ROMA40, UTM for ED50, and UTM and Fuso Italia, for the Global System realizations.
As for elevation, both allow to transform ellipsoid elevations, referring to the geocentric GRS80 ellipsoid, into geoid elevations (above sea level) relating to national altimetric references, and vice versa.
In addition to the above-mentioned performance, Verto3k carries out calculation and application of transformation parameters between different Reference Systems. More in detail, having an adequate number of duplicate points (i.e., known in two systems, also defined by the user), this software allows the determination of geometric relation existing between the two different Reference Systems in both plane and spatial roto-translation parameters; specific functions are also available allowing the application of the above-mentioned parameters.
Only the algorithms needed to carry out transformations are stored in both software, but not the data, that must be purchased separately in grid format stored in files with the following extensions:

For converting coordinates within the same Reference System, throughout the national territory, you don’t need files containing the grid’s areas of interest.
Two types of input are possible:
Verto2k and Verto3k are the evolution of previous Verto2+ and Verto3 versions, to which the modern implementation of the ETRS89 Global Reference System named ETRF2000 (2008.0) was added.
The new “k” versions don’t support previous gr1 and gr2 grid formats. Therefore, in order to continue to be able to use the old grid formats, please don’t uninstall previous versions of the Verto suite

For purchases made until the above date, two types of hardware keys were provided :
The black-colored EUTRON key that does not require drivers
