Training and Public Services

Address: Viale Filippo Strozzi, 10 – 50129 Florence

Located in Viale Filippo Strozzi, this office is dedicated to the geographer and cartographer Cesare Battisti (1875-1916). The building, designed in 1852 by the architect and Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Caprilli as a covered riding stable for the Grand-ducal troops, is a fine example of nineteenth-century military architecture.

Today the building hosts:

  • The Superior School of Geographic Sciences, a center of excellence for higher education in the sector.
  • The Sales Office, a point of reference for the purchase of the Institute’s official cartographic and editorial production.
