The Italian Military Geographic Institute operates through three main offices located in Florence, buildings that combine an inestimable historical-architectural value with the most modern needs of cartographic production and scientific training.

Located in the heart of Florence, in Via Cesare Battisti, the Head Office of the Institute is part of the monumental complex of “La Sapienza”.
Address: Via Novoli, 93 Florence
Located in Via di Novoli, the branch office is named after Ermenegildo Santoni (1896-1970), a distinguished pioneer of aerial photogrammetry. It is a modern complex dedicated to operational, production and cutting-edge technological activities.
In this location, headquarters of the Geodetic Department, all activities related to digital production and printing flows are carried out and the constant updating and distribution of the official State Cartography is guaranteed.

Located in Viale Filippo Strozzi, this office is dedicated to the geographer and cartographer Cesare Battisti (1875-1916). The building, designed in 1852 by the architect and Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Caprilli as a covered riding stable for the Grand-ducal troops, is a fine example of nineteenth-century military architecture.
