Aerial photos: what is the difference between photogrammetric and non-photogrammetric TIFF format?

The choice depends on the technical use of the file:

  • Non-Photogrammetric TIFF: It is a versatile format ideal for visual analysis, photo-interpretation and historical documentation.
  • Photogrammetric TIFF: It is an advanced file that preserves the rigorous geometric and radiometric characteristics of the original shot. It is used for three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and stereoscopy, and requires the use of at least two contiguous photograms of the same flight strip run.
